China ain’t happy with Rain, the Shandong PR ambassador

Chinese medias have been on fire for the last few days, reporting that Korea's own superstar, Rain, has been chosen to be the PR ambassador of Shandong. Shandong is a coastal province of eastern People's Republic of China, known for its enrichment in honorable history as the hometown of Confucius. However, instead of rejoicing over the fact that the world's hottie is now in charge of advertising their very own city, the Chinese netizens have been uproar by expressing their furious opinions.

"Why do we have to let a Korean man be in charge of spreading the words of Shandong, a province where Confucius lived as his home?"

"I am a fan of Rain myself, but I do not want him to be the PR ambassador of Shandong."

"We have a handful amount of Chinese celebrities who are from Shandong, so why can't we use them instead of a foreigner?"

Due to this hot controversy, Rain is currently being silent towards this issue.

Although the reason for such a dispute is quite understandable from certain aspects, I believe having a star who is well-known. throughout U.S. and Asia, promoting such honored city will end up being highly effective. Rain's promotion will most definitely capture the attentions of people not only in China, but the whole world as well. But of course, there's always a limit of how one can represent a foreign nation.

WonderGirls listed on JWT’s list of ‘100 Things To Watch in 2010′

Group WonderGirls has been included in global advertising agency JWT (J. Walter Thompson)’s list of ‘100 Things To Watch in 2010′.

The group was included at #99 of the 100 things which JWT had listed to watch out for in the new year 2010. And the image of the girls during their performance in the States was also uploaded in the list and they were introduced as the South Korean girlgroup “With their good looks, slick packaging, infectious pop songs and trend-setting videos”.

The girls who had previously entered the Billboard singles chart, recently peformed on FOX ‘So You Think You Can Dance Season 6′ on 9th December, receiving good response for their music in the first year of their Americanadvance.

Meanwhile, the girls entered at #76 on the Billboard ‘Hot 100 chart’ in October, the first Korean artiste to do so in the 115 years of history since Billboard was established in 1894. The girls started making their name known through opening performance for Jonas Brothers’ concert tour earlier this year.

IRIS OST singers to perform together for KBS Gayo Daejun

IRIS OST singers Shin Seung Hoon, Baek Ji Young and Kim Tae Woo will unite for a stage in KBS Gayo Daejun, on December 30th at Seoul Yeouido's KBS Hall. The trio will each perform their own song as the three performances will be Shin Seung Hoon's Love Of Iris, Baek Ji Young's Do Not Forget and Kim Tae Woo's Dreaming Dream.

These performances will be joined by cuts of Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee's love scenes from IRIS in the background, to have a music-video-like atmosphere.

Taecyeon denies his scandal with Yoona

Most people are excited about Taecyeon and Yoona's special stage at the 2009 MBC Gayo Daejun, but it looks like some people are taking it the performance storyline too literally.

As you may know, Taecyeon and Yoona are a couple in the performance. They get in a fight and in the end make up with the help of their members. Though people are excited for this 2PM-SNSD performance, others have spread rumors about Taecyeon and Yoona, saying that they're actually dating.

On the 29th, Taecyeon wrote on his minihompy, "It's just business, really. kkk Please reference the Ok Taecyeon episode of [Mnet] Scandal," reminding fans of the make-believe couple show that made many Hottests agonize earlier this year. It's great that Taecyeon clarified that this would just be a special stage like the one Wonder Girls and Big Bang had last year.

Netizens have commented, "Good luck with your business," "Ah, so cute," and "I'll judge after I see it."

I trust that it's just business and something MBC is doing to gain more viewers but who knows, it might turn into something more.

Inkigayo: The Magazine?

That's right, the Take 7 of Inkigayo is now also a magazine. SBS Contents Hub's president Lee Nam Ki announced that they are creating the country's first music program magazine called SBS Inkigayo Magazine Take 7"... creative, right? SBS wants to take a step beyond the performances aired on TV, so this magazine will include interviews, pictures and much more.

The first issue will feature special pages about artists that have been active from the first week of December to the third week, including 2PM, SHINee, CL & Minzy, BEAST, f(x), MBLAQ, and Rainbow. They will make up around 80 pages and definitely will be a hit to young people.

An associate of SBS Contents Hub said, "This magazine represents the mainstream music features on Inkigayo. It's a new thing we're doing and everyone should keep an eye on it. We will have all kinds of music program information as well as concert news, behind-the-scenes features on music videos and more. We are aiming to become Korea's #1 music magazine."

The first issue of the magazine will be up for grabs for those attending 2009 SBS Gayo Daejun for free. For those who are not in attendance, they will start hitting the stores in January and will come out with a new issue every 28 days.

MBLAQ and T-ara are dating?

Rookie groups MBLAQ and T-ara are... dating?

Yes, they are dating, but don't go crazy fangirls/fanboys, as it's only for the show MBLAQ Idol Army Season 5.

The couples are:

Thunder - Eunjung | Lee Joon - Hyomin | Seungho - Soyeon

We are not sure of the 2 remaining pairs as yet but everyone will have a partner except for T-ara's Jiyeon who wasn't present since she had to film her drama, God of Study.

The episode showed one couple at a time, just like MBC's We Got Married. Each couple held hands, but could they have gone further?

Let's start off in the order of the list above.

20 year old Thunder said "I never had a girlfriend." which surprised everyone. This showed everyone that he was a very shy person, kind of like his sister, Sandara Park, who acted pretty shy on the past recording of Family Outing. He couldn't meet eyes with his "girlfriend" Eunjung, and called her noona, as she is a year older than him.



Lee Joon and Hyomin went skating and held hands for a long time. Even when the camera was off, the two stuck together like glue, which made them seem like a real couple. In the middle of the date, Joon said something shocking. He looked right at Hyomin and said "You're number one in my heart forever" But it wasn't out of the blue - he said this because Hyomin asked who he liked the most in T-ara.



Now, another couple has been catching attention because the duo has a real-life friendship as well: Seungho and Soyeon are best friends in real life. They have known each other for eight years because they went to the same high school. Their parents are even friends with each other as well. During the recording, they phoned each others parents and had a talk. Soyeon was acting cute to Seungho's mother saying, "Mom~ I kept my promise~" What did this really mean? Did she keep her promise that she will be his friend for a long time? Did she keep her promise that they will date? Was it just for show?

Crack 2AM’s computer with SNSD’s Seohyun

2AM's maknae member, Jinwoon, has decided to share with the fans the holy grail of true fandom, otherwise known as his computer password.

But what could it possibly be?

'2amForever'? 'JokwonRocks123'?

Nope. It's 'Seohyun' of SNSD, apparently Jinwoon's dream girl.

On KBS Cool FM's Super Junior's Kiss the Radio which aired on the 31st, idol boys born in 1991 gathered, including Key of SHINee, Dongwoon of BEAST, Mir of MBLAQ, and lastly Jinwoon of 2AM. These four young boys spoke in unison, "Yes, I would really want to invite SNSD's Seohyun for our 91's gathering if we have one."

Jinwoon then added, "I love Seohyun so much that I set our (2AM) computer's password to 'Seohyun'." How generous of him to reveal the password to the world.

While it amazes us that he revealed his love for this faceless girl member, we're equally amazed that he had the balls to publicly reveal his password.

HAM will return with second single

It's been almost 3 months since HAM released their first single, T.T Dance. And well, HAM is set to finally return with their second single, DooGeunDooGeun (두근두근), on the 30th!

Unlike the powerful rock-dance T.T Dance, DooGeunDooGeun will have a different feel as it will have a sweet tune which will make it easy to sing along to. Following T.T Dance's popular "running dance," the netizens are curious to see what kind of choreography HAM will bring this time. DooGeunDooGeun's music video will be released the day before the track's release, on December 29th via Daum Music.

Furthermore, after HAM's activities with T.T Dance, they flew over to Japan to film a rookie idol program Idol Sniper, which will broadcast on TV Osaka's CS Victory channel. The show will broadcast starting on January 2010, as they kick off their Japanese debut, one episode a week for a total of four episodes.

Actors unite under the “Love Tree”

Actors Moon Geun Young, Kim Kang Woo, Kim Hyo Jin, and others are uniting for the collaborative LOVE TREE PROJECT. The project is actually an album and will be dropping on the 29th via music portals!

The three actors have been helping the children as well as donating to the Whales University Medical Center since 2005. They have also previously collaborated with other famous artists to release another album to aid the children.

Moon Geun Young had met veteran singer Yoon Sang earlier in her career, and she got him involved in the project. He is main producer for the project and has helped it a great deal along the way.

The LOVE TREE PROJECT is planned to go on until January 2010 with its repackaged album.

TVXQ’s PV Digest Picture for their Best Album

On February 17, 2010 the boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki are scheduled to release a TVXQ Best Album in Japan which will contain their best hits. There will be 4 different type of albums. A) 2 CDs + DVD, B) 1 CD + DVD, C) 1 CD, and a Big East Limited Special Edition.

The PV for their Best Hit Collection has been released. The PV contains the songs from the 1 CD. If you happen to get the 2 CD version, on the 2nd CD you'll receive an additional four new songs and an additional member's choice five songs.

SHINee has fun while filming for a chicken CF

Back in November we reported that SHINee was going to endorse Mexicana chicken, just like idol groups such as DBSK / TVXQ / Tohoshinki, Super Junior, SNSD / Girls' Generation, Wonder Girls, KARA, and many others have done in the past.

Well, Arirang TV was on hand for the filming of SHINee's chicken CF's and recently aired a segment on one of their shows. The whole thing is in English with subs, so no translation is needed.

SHINee’s Minho, steward on an airplane?

In early December we reported that SHINee's Minho along with his Let's Go Dream Team cast mates would be heading to Canada. They arrived in Canada had a blast and a few weeks ago returned to Korea.

On a recent episode of Let's Go Dream Team, while flying to Canada, they decided to let Minho become a steward on an Korean Air flight. Watch Minho dress up in a steward uniform and serve meals to the passengers, also watch him give his patented winking.

[rumor] Hankyung wants to out because of SNSD ?

A Chinese news site reported what seems to be a rumor about Hankyung and SNSD. Long story short, the article indicated that Hankyung's real reason for wanting to terminate his contract was not just an unfair contract, but mistreatment by SNSD members.

Many Korean fans are questioning whether or not this story on sohu.com was created to intentionally hurt SNSD. Sohu.com reported:


" Hankyung wants to leave SM Entertainment not only because of his contract, but because of the mistreatment from other artists of the company. It's been reported that he has been receiving hurtful comments from SNSD for some time. He was disregarded by people after working very hard and developed psychological disorders. "


Sohu.com continued,

" Because of the disorders, he wanted to take a break but they denied his request. SNSD has always been sarcastic and used satire against him. For example, they would say to him, "Oppa!
